Privacy Policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
This policy explains what Practice Site Check (the “Checker”) collects, why, and the choices you have. The Checker is a free tool from Practice Strategy & Technology (“we”, “us”), operated by Alex Marshi.
The short version: we ask for your work email and your practice’s public website address, scan your site’s main public pages, show you the results, and keep a short record so we can follow up with you about your results if you agreed to that. We do not sell your information.
Please do not enter client or patient information
The Checker only needs your work email and the public address of your practice website. It is not designed to receive protected health information (PHI) or any information about your clients or patients, and we do not sign business associate agreements for it. Please do not type any into the form.
What we collect
- What you enter: your email address and the website address you want scanned, plus a record that you ticked the consent box and when.
- Scan summary: the score, the number of checks passed, failed and marked for review, whether any critical issues were found, and when the scan ran. We show you the full detailed results on screen, but we do not keep a copy of the full report text or of your web page.
- Technical data: like any website, our servers and our hosting provider receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We briefly use your IP address, held in server memory, to limit how many scans one person can run in a short time. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.
The Checker does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or social media pixels.
What the scan does with your website
When you submit a website address, our server requests your home page and up to seven other public pages the home page links to (such as contact, booking, forms and policy pages), the way a visitor’s browser would, identifying itself as “PracticeSiteCheck”. It also looks at information your server sends to every visitor, such as your security headers, your HTTPS redirect and your security certificate. It reads each page’s code in memory to run the checks, then discards it. It does not log in, fill in or submit forms, or look at pages behind a password.
How we use your information
- To run the scan and show you the results.
- If you ticked the consent box, to follow up about your results and your options, including offering a free consultation, and to email you a copy of your results.
- To keep the Checker secure, prevent abuse, and understand how it is being used.
We use your email address only for follow-up about your scan and our consulting services. We will not add you to a newsletter or mailing list without asking you separately.
Your PDF report
When you choose “Download PDF report”, the PDF is created inside your own browser. It is not uploaded to us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We use a few service providers to run the Checker:
- Vercel, which hosts the website.
- Supabase, which stores the scan summary records described above.
- Resend, which delivers email, when we send you a message.
- A messaging or workflow tool (for example Slack, or a similar service) that alerts us when a new request comes in. It receives your email address, website address and score summary.
If you choose to book a consultation, you will be taken to Calendly, which has its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect against fraud or abuse, or if the business is transferred to a new owner.
How long we keep it
We keep your record for as long as it is useful for following up about your scan and running our consulting business, and we delete it when you ask.
Your choices
- Opt out of follow-up: reply to any message from us, or email alex@alexmarshi.com, and we will stop contacting you.
- Access, correct or delete your information: email alex@alexmarshi.com from the address you used. We will respond promptly, and within the time the law requires.
If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it and to have it deleted. We honor these requests from anyone, wherever they live. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
Security
The Checker is served over HTTPS, and saved records are readable only by us through a protected administrator login. No online service can promise perfect security, so please keep that in mind when deciding what to share.
Children
The Checker is for practice owners and staff. It is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
